Shifty Brent - Stay Until the Kettle Sings

Rain beads silver on the sill.
The tea has cooled between our hands,
But neither one of us moves still.
Stay until the kettle sings,
Stay while this old room turns to blue.
I don't need the morning yet,
If I can spend this hour with you.
The clock above the doorway skips a second every time it turns.
